Baladi Beit Jala 2024 — Cremisan Winery

On terraced fields 850 metres above sea level in the Beit Jala hills of Bethlehem, the indigenous red Baladi grape grows in just enough quantity for Cremisan Winery to produce this singular wine. It is a variety that belongs entirely to Palestine — rare, expressive, and unlike anything else in the glass.

Light, juicy, and vibrantly alive, the Baladi is a red wine that plays by its own rules. Cremisan recommends serving it at a cooler temperature than most reds, which accentuates its structure and lets the wine's natural freshness and minerality shine.

Tasting Notes

  • Morello cherry on the nose — bright and inviting
  • Karaz Akhdar (green cherries) and mahlab adding distinctly Palestinian aromatic character
  • A touch of baking spice for warmth and intrigue
  • Lively acidity and earthy minerality contributing to a long, vibrant finish

Serving Suggestion

Best enjoyed slightly cooler than a typical red — around 14–16°C — to accentuate its structure and freshness.
